Stafford Creek Lodge
Stafford Creek Lodge
We visited Stafford Creek when it first opened back in 1999 and have been urging anglers to do the same ever since. Owned and operated by one of the most passionate personalities in all the fly fishing world, Prescott Smith has become a casting legend and steward of all things wild in the Bahamas. Stafford Creek Lodge consists of three tastefully decorated cottages, all complete with private bathrooms. The lodge is situated on Stafford Creek located on the northern portion of Andros Island, providing fisherman convenient access to the famous Joulters Cay area along with Mastic Point, London Creek and Bowne Sound. Anglers can fish a lifetime out of this location and never fish the same piece of water twice. Prescott, along with guides Shawn, Solomon and Bradley fish out of Maverick and Action Craft skiffs. This group comprises one of the more experienced guide teams on Andros.
For more diverse fishing options, when the winds calm and the water temperature is just right, Prescott and his crew of guides love to target tarpon and permit on the Westside of the island. In addition, the lodge offers an impressive offshore program utilizing their 33’ Stamas fishing for dorado, tuna and wahoo all on the fly. We can’t stress enough how important it is to visit a lodge that truly believes in giving back to the fisheries anglers use, this one is tops on our list.
Anglers fly into either Fort Lauderdale and book a private charter or fly into Nassau and fly commercial over to San Andros. From there clients are escorted approx 20 minutes to the lodge.
